    Within THE lapse of five years (1936-1941), the activities of Generalissimo Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina have taken such vast proportions that it has become necessary to publish this Third Edition of his work, place notes to the chapters written by the author and also it has become necessary to write a Fourth Part as a final chapter in which may be seen the outstanding facts realized during this period. The forms expressed by the author have been respected. On reading the first and second editions of this work, published in 1936 and 1937, one sees immediately a certain fundamental characteristic of Generalissimo Trujillo. His ideas of five years ago are the basis of his subsequent realizations. What was then an aspiring thought has now become a realized fact. His musings were not carried away by a passing breeze; they have been the solid foundation for executive action within a formal plan of action of his government.
