Ítem Highlights in the debates in the spanish chamber of deputies relative to the abandonment of Santo Domingo(Murray & Heister, 1941) Yuengling, David G.IT HAS been my intention in compiling the material for the formation of this book, to show the reasons behind the words of the Spanish Deputies and the motives which prompted them to make their declarations. To prove or disprove certain points which the debators saw fit to make during their varied discourses, I have added certain documents found in the Archives of the Dominican Republic which, I believe, substantiate many of the reasons why the Spanish Government wished to abandon Santo Domingo. The compilation of this material would have been quite impossible without the assistance of many people to whom I owe a deep debt of gratitude.
